The sound of Patna Municipal Councilor Dr Chandrashekhar Singh slapping a student during the 70th BPSC preliminary examination on Friday has reached Delhi. A video of Patna district magistrate Dr Chandrashekhar Singh, in which he is seen slapping a student at an examination center in capital Bapta, has also gone viral. It is understood that during the Bihar Public Service Commission examination at the Kumlal Bapu examination centre, some candidates boycotted the examination citing irregularities and created disturbances outside the examination hall.

After receiving the information, the Patna district magistrate and Patna senior superintendent of police also rushed to the center, the district administration said. Outside the centre, trolleys were placed blocking the road, causing chaos. Ram Iqbal Singh, another center director, suffered a heart attack and efforts are on to rush him to the hospital immediately. He died on arrival at the hospital. A female candidate also fainted. Ambulances were working to take him to hospital, where his condition improved upon arrival.
In a tense situation, minor force was used to clear the blockage and traffic was restored by moving people off the road. Slapping him is not intended to hurt any candidate. The district administration is always ready to provide facilities and benefits to the candidates. But we will take tough action to identify those who are systematically spreading rumors and undermining the entire system.
