DUSU Election 2024 Candidates List: Preparations for the Delhi University Students’ Union elections are going on in full swing. ABVP, NSUI and SFI student organisations have already announced the names of candidates. Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Friday announced the panel for the Delhi University Students’ Union elections (DUSU Election 2024) to be held on September 27, 2024. After the panel headed by Rishabh Choudhary contests for the post of president, Bhanu Pratap Singh will contest for the post of vice-president, Mitravinda Karnawal for the post of secretary and Aman Kapasia for the post of joint secretary.
ABVP has been raising various issues related to Delhi University including construction of new hostels, installation of sanitary napkin vending machines, strengthening of sports facilities, implementation of ‘one course, one fee’ policy and establishment of mindfulness centre etc. ABVP is committed to addressing these issues and working towards making the university a hub for all-round development.
Who is the ABVP candidate for the DUSU elections?
Chairman: Rishabh Choudhary
Rishabh Chaudhary hails from Gannaur, Sonipat and belongs to a farming family with a rural background. He has completed his graduation in History and Political Science from Shyamlal College, Delhi University. Rishabh has a keen interest in volleyball and kabaddi and is constantly working towards improving the sports facilities in the university. Currently, he is pursuing a degree in the Department of Buddhist Studies, Delhi University. This year, he is a candidate for the post of ABVP DUSU President.
Vice President: Bhanu Pratap Singh
Bhanu Pratap Singh is from Faridabad, Haryana. He has completed his Psychology (Honours) degree from Sri Aurobindo College, Delhi University. Bhanu has organized several competitions for the all-round development of DU students. In 2017, he was elected as the Secretary of Sri Aurobindo College Student Union. Currently, he is a first year student at the Faculty of Law, Delhi University.
Secretary: Mitravinda Karnawal
Mitravenda is a resident of Binorchandpur in Uttar Pradesh. She is actively involved in various activities related to women’s issues and has a special interest in social service. Academically, Mitravenda has always been a topper. He scored 99% in the mid-term examinations and ranked third in his district. In the Ritumati movement, she worked to create awareness among women in Delhi University on various subjects. Last year, she was elected as the Secretary of the Lakshmibai College Students’ Union. Currently, she is a third year student of History (Honours) at Lakshmibai College, Delhi University.
Joint Secretary: Aman Kapashia
Aman Kapashia from Delhi graduated from DU PGDAV Evening School with a degree in Hindi (Honours). Aman has a keen interest in sports and is a national-level archer. Currently, he is studying in the Department of Buddhist Studies at Delhi University. During the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Aman played an important role in providing essential services to students stranded in 11 colleges of Delhi University. This year, he is the ABVP candidate for the post of Joint Secretary of DUSU.
