Duleep Trophy Second Round: The second round of the Duleep Trophy 2024 season is starting on Thursday (September 12). In this round, all those cricketers including Rinku Singh and Shreyas Iyer, who have been ignored by the selectors for the Bangladesh Test, have a chance to perform well. The Duleep Trophy matches will start at 9.30 am.

With Shubman Gill joining the Indian team, Mayank Agarwal will be the captain of the India A team. Mayank, who played his last Test in March 2022, will have to perform well to raise his claim for selection in the national team again.

All eyes will be on Rinku Singh

In the India B team, captain Abhimanyu Easwaran will have to lead from the front, who flopped in the first round in Bengaluru last week. Apart from him, all eyes will be on Rinku Singh, who was not selected in the first round despite a brilliant first class record, and who has been performing well in T20 cricket for India.

The Indian team players have been given rest before the first Test against Bangladesh starting on 19 September in Chennai, due to which many stars will not be able to play in the second round. Sarfaraz Khan is the only member of the Indian team who will be seen in the second round of this domestic tournament.

Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna could not play in the first round due to injury. He has been included in the India A team. Sarfaraz’s younger brother Mushir Khan had helped India B win over India A by scoring 181 runs in the first round. Now the elder brother will also be eyeing to play a big innings.
