Rinku Singh is set to join the India B team while all Test players picked for the series against Bangladesh, barring Sarfaraz Khan, are likely to pull out of the next round of Duleep Trophy matches starting September 12 in Anantapur.
Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Kuldeep Yadav and Akash Deep are going to be dropped from the India A team and will be replaced by Pratham Singh, Akshay Wadkar, Sheikh Rashid, Shams Mulani and Pulkit Narang.
Fast bowler Vidwat Kaverappa is likely to move from India A to India D for the second round. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rishabh Pant and Yash Dayal from India B are likely to be left out and Suyash Prabhudesai, Himanshu Mantri and Rinku will get a chance in their place.
Sarfraz, who was part of the Indian squad for the first Test against Bangladesh, will be with India B for the second round of matches of the Duleep Trophy, which are scheduled to end on September 15, three days before the start of the Chennai Test.
These changes will not affect India C, but India D will miss Akshar Patel and Tushar Deshpande, who are injured. Kaverappa and Nishant Sindhu will join their team.
The Indian team will arrive in Chennai on September 12 for camp ahead of the first Test against Bangladesh starting on September 19. In the first round of Duleep Trophy matches, India B defeated India A with Mushir Khan playing a stellar role by scoring 181 runs, and India C defeated India D with 22-year-old Manav Suthar taking seven wickets in an innings with his left-arm spin.
