Drones to monitor pollution in capital, pilot project launched

Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai

Pollution is a serious problem in Delhi. This problem is especially serious in winter. To curb pollution, the Delhi government released a 21-point winter action plan this year. Under this, ground and aerial monitoring of factors causing pollution will be carried out this time. Especially in these 13 hotspot areas, the air quality is still below normal levels. A pilot project of the scheme was launched in the Wazirpur hotspot, where Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai personally arrived to start drone trials.

Launching the pilot project, the Environment Minister said the Aam Aadmi Party government was making continuous efforts to reduce pollution. He said 13 such hotspots have been identified in Delhi where the air quality is worse than normal. This time it was decided to monitor these hot spots through drones.

What is the major?

The environment minister said that through this modern technology, the sources of sky pollution will be identified and appropriate measures will be taken accordingly. In Wazirpur district, drones are taking photos of various pollution sources within a range of about 200 meters. Through these photos, reports will be submitted to the Delhi Pollution Control Board and the environment department. The drone flies at a height of 120 meters and there is no risk of colliding with nearby buildings.

If the pilot project is successful, it will be expanded to other hotspots in Delhi, he said. He said that through technology such as drones, the Aam Aadmi Party’s fight against pollution would become more powerful.

The BJP should stop this shenanigans.

Recently, there was news that Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party chief Virendra Sachdeva’s health condition had deteriorated after he took a bath in Yamuna. In this regard, Gopal Rai suggested that Virendra Sachdeva be admitted to the Indian Institute of Medical Sciences so that he could receive treatment as soon as possible. He said the people of the PPP should stop such dramas. The Bharatiya Janata Party has governments in four states surrounding Delhi, but they show no concern for pollution in Yamuna. Uttar Pradesh and Haryana continue to discharge polluted water into the Yamuna river, causing drinking water for the people of Delhi to become a problem.

Gopal Rai asked the BJP to take steps to reduce pollution in and around Delhi. He said if pollution is reduced through gimmicks, then the BJP should continue with the game. The Delhi government will continue to do a good job.

Rai’s comments on CJI’s statement

When the Chief Justice asked not to take morning walks due to poor air quality, Rai said everyone should follow health advice and cooperate to reduce pollution. Regarding the recent improvement in AQI, Rai said the pollution level has dropped to 300 due to increased wind speed. He said the situation would be better if the wind speeds remained good. He told reporters that before October 14, the AQI was 50-100, but it has increased since then. It’s not that everything suddenly went wrong in Delhi, but the Delhi government is constantly working to reduce pollution. Pollution in Yamuna is increasing due to the influence of the BJP. The Aam Aadmi Party government is taking steps to reduce pollution in Yamuna.
