Forest department officials in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha have arrested a hunter who had hidden the skulls of leopard and barking deer in his house. The officers confiscated both the skulls and arrested the hunter. After being caught, the process of interrogation of the accused hunter is going on.

Giving information about this to PTI, Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) Deputy Director Samrat Gowda said on Monday that based on a secret information, a team of forest officials raided the house of Lanka Badra in Makabadi village on Sunday and when his When the house was searched, a leopard skull was recovered from there.

After this, the accused hunter Lanka Badra was arrested and interrogated. STR Deputy Director Samrat Gowda said that during interrogation, Badra revealed the detailed procedure adopted for hunting wild animals and gave information about the crime scene inside the forest.

After this, on his instructions, the investigating officer seized some bones from the crime scene, which are suspected to be those of some wild animals. The forest officer said that apart from this, the accused also got the weapons used in the crime recovered from his house in Makabadi.

During the second search, dried meat, three noose, a barking deer skull with horns, an axe, bill hook, poison and two bags were seized from Lanka Badr’s house. The Deputy Director said that a case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway.
