In Jorethang, Sikkim, a man killed his wife by cutting her with a sharp weapon after a minor incident due to a domestic dispute. After committing this incident of murder, the accused himself went to the police station at midnight and surrendered. However, now the police is investigating this matter.
Giving information about this sensational incident on Friday, a Jorethang police officer told PTI that the 37-year-old accused murdered his 33-year-old wife with a sharp weapon. He did not abscond after committing the crime.
The police officer further said that the accused has been identified as Bhim Kumar Rai. His wife’s name was Smrita Rai. There was a heated argument between the two over domestic issues, during which Bhim killed his wife by attacking her with a sharp weapon in their rented house at around 1 am on the intervening night of Thursday-Friday.
The police officer said that the accused Bhim Kumar Rai lived with his wife and two children in a rented house in Jorethang city. After killing his wife, Bhim Kumar Rai surrendered himself at Jorethang police station and told the entire incident to the police.
The local police officer said that Bhim Kumar Rai has two small children, for whose care they have currently been handed over to other family members. He told that now further investigation is being done in the matter.
