Padma Shri Dr Ravindra Narayan Singh, former international president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, said pilgrimage plays an important role in Indian culture. It is said that in ancient times, sons sent their parents on pilgrimages to accumulate virtue, but now due to changes in material life, the desire to make pilgrimages has become less and less. The main reasons for this situation are changes in social structure, lack of time, old age without children, etc. The number of pilgrims has not declined over the past few years, but the number has not increased, which is worrying.
