‘Diwali is not a festival of firecrackers but a festival of lights’, Maulana Tauqeer Raza reacts to Dhirendra Shastri’s statement – Maulana Tauqeer Raza reacts to Dhirendra Shastri’s statement

Bareilly’s Maulana Tauqeer Raza reacted strongly to Bageshwar Dham’s Dhirendra Krishna Shastri’s statement about firecrackers. Maulana said Diwali is a festival of lights, not a festival of explosions and firecrackers. He further said that if when expressing happiness, pollution is also spreading into the environment, then this expression of happiness is not actually happiness.

Tauqeer Raza also said that there should not be a complete ban on setting off firecrackers, but a limit should be set. If someone’s well-being results in loss of life or property, then it is very important to take strict action against him. After all, the environment must also be protected from damage. He said people from the Muslim community used to use fireworks during Shab-e-Baraat but this was prohibited by our Ulama.

In fact, yesterday Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, the director of Bageshwar Dham, had questioned the ban on firecrackers during Diwali and said that since goat sacrifice is not banned during Bakrid, why should firecrackers be banned? Did he say that only Sanatani people are responsible for the balance of the environment? This favoritism should stop. Even during the Chinese New Year, the sound of firecrackers continues.

Tauqeer Raza reacts to Dhirendra Shastri’s statement

Maulana Tauqeer Raza said in an interview with the media that early fireworks were also used for Muslim festivals. People of the Muslim community used to use fireworks during Shab-e-Barat but considering the interest of the country, our Ulama prohibited it and today on Shab-e-Barat, there is only a light instead of fireworks.

Tauquir asked all religious leaders to make their societies aware of this. Explain fireworks to people. If fireworks must be set off, limit them. Because billions of rupees are wasted every year on fireworks and the people of the country have to bear the brunt of it in the form of pollution. Despite court guidelines, bursting of crackers is wrong in the country.
