In this case, there is no time to perform Lakshmi Puja. And on October 31, since there is Amavasya on Pradosh Kaal and midnight, it is appropriate to celebrate Diwali on this day.
Sudesh Sharma, president and professor of Central Sanskrit University, said that on October 31, Amavasya entered the Pradosh period. Diwali night begins as soon as Pradosh arrives. Why is Diwali not celebrated on November 1?
Pandit Kaushal Dutt Sharma said Diwali could have been celebrated on November 1 if Amavasya had been available for 24 minutes from 05.41 to 08.50 pm after Pradosh Kaal. Lakshmi Puja cannot be held as Amavasya takes place only a few minutes after sunset on November 1. He talked about celebrating Diwali on October 31. Another theory is that Lakshmi Ji flies in the sky to express her blessings only at midnight, which is on October 31st.
