Chief Minister Hemant Soren
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren MP-MLA has moved the High Court against the court order. The case will be heard in the High Court today (Wednesday). The hearing will be held in the court of Justice Anil Kumar Chaudhry. MP-MLA court directed Hemant Soren to appear in person.
The order was issued following violation of eight ED summonses. Hemant Soren’s request to be excused from appearing in court in person has been denied. The whole incident is related to land fraud. The ED has issued 10 summonses to Hemant Soren for questioning in connection with the money laundering case. The central probe agency held that he ignored the summons by not appearing in court despite eight summonses being issued. Following this, he filed a complaint in the CJM court on February 19.
A petition was also filed on Soren’s behalf seeking exemption from personal appearance, but the MP-MLA court dismissed Hemant Soren’s petition and ordered him to appear in person on December 4.
