In an interview given to Lehren Retro, the actress said – Yes, it is true that he had proposed marriage to me. This whole controversy started on the sets of Damini. He felt that he would not be able to complete the shooting of the film with me. They had also started looking for another heroine, but then somehow I took charge of the matter. Producer Council, Artist Council all worked together to fix things. That day we swore that we would never discuss it again.
‘Whatever happened is just the past. We just wanted to make a good film. For this we were also working hard. Things were in our favor also. As a director, Rajkumar Santoshi forgot everything and made a good film. Salute to him for this.
Meenakshi is ready to work together
Meenakshi was asked whether she is now ready to do a film with Rajkumar Santoshi? On this she said- Yes, of course I will think about it. Provided he offers me a good role.
He further said, ‘Despite all the controversies, we did not feel awkward with each other during the shooting of Damini, so I don’t think we will have any problem working together today.’
