A bungalow in Sector 10 of Chandigarh was attacked with a grenade on Wednesday evening, which created a sensation in the area. There were no casualties in the attack, but the grenade exploded in the lawn of the house and broke the glass panes of the windows. Police and intelligence agencies suspect that Khalistani terrorist Harvinder Singh Rinda, who is hiding in Pakistan, may be behind this attack. Rinda has been involved in many terrorist attacks and conspiracies in the past. Agencies suspect that the task of this attack may have been given by Rinda, but the family that was to be targeted had already left this bungalow.
Suspicious auto caught in CCTV
CCTV footage of this attack has also surfaced, in which an auto can be seen leaving the spot. The footage clearly shows that after the explosion, a person runs away from the bungalow and sits in an auto, which indicates that the attackers came in this auto. It is being told that there were three people in the auto, who threw the grenade at house number 575 of Sector 10.
Conspiracy to target retired police officer
According to sources, the family of a retired SSP of Punjab Police used to live in this bungalow earlier, and this attack was probably carried out by targeting them. A conspiracy was hatched to target this retired officer in the year 2023, but at that time the Punjab Police foiled the attack by arresting two shooters. The arrested shooters were associated with Khalistani terrorist Rinda. It is believed that this attack could be a part of the same incomplete conspiracy, which has now been executed.
Investigation underway, one accused in custody
After the incident, the police have intensified the investigation. So far, one suspect has been arrested, and he is being questioned. Agencies are investigating the case from every angle, and the role of foreign elements is also being investigated. It is believed that a terrorist group sitting outside the country had planned this attack. The family currently living in the kothi is completely safe.
