Researchers reported that the figure for diabetics was Rs 828 million, a four-fold increase from 1990, NCD-RISC reported. Among them, adolescent cases have increased the most.
How many patients are there in the world?
Globally, 445 million adolescents aged 30 and above receive no treatment for diabetes. In terms of total patients, out of 828 million Indian patients, one in four (212 million) suffers from diabetes. Regarding the number of patients, researchers said there are 148 million patients in China. Among diabetic patients, there are 42 million, 36 million and 22 million diabetic patients in the United States, Pakistan and Brazil respectively. November 14th every year is World Diabetes Day. People of every age are affected.
The risk of developing diabetes is increasing because people of every age have diabetes. Youth, women and the elderly are included. Due to diabetes, blood pressure (i.e. blood pressure) and heart-related diseases increase. One in four patients worldwide has diabetes. Because of this, the increase in the number of people with diabetes across the country and around the world is truly alarming.
