All the 6 accused in the case of attack on two army officers and rape of their female friend near Mhow in Madhya Pradesh have been arrested. 3 accused were caught on Wednesday. The remaining three absconding were caught by the police on Friday. During interrogation, it was found that the miscreants had reached Jamgate after hearing the loud sound of music during the picnic of army officers.
This picnic spot is about 30 km away from Mhow military cantonment. Jamgate, situated on the Vindhyachal mountain range, is surrounded by forests. Tourists come here during the day in the monsoon and this area becomes deserted at night.
SP (rural) Hitika Vasal said that two army officers and their two female friends were at the spot since 11 pm on Tuesday night. All four of them were listening to songs at high volume and on hearing the sound in the deserted area late at night, six accused reached the spot and committed the crime.
All four were threatened with a pistol
The police officer said that one of the attackers threatened the victims with a pistol while the others had sticks. The accused held one couple hostage, beat them up and told the other couple that they would be released if they brought Rs 10 lakh. The couple who fled informed the top army officials about the incident. After this, the police was informed. The police reached the spot, but the accused fled after seeing the headlights of the police vehicle.
A reward of Rs 10,000 each has been announced on the accused
Since the incident, police teams were raiding different places to nab the three absconding accused and a reward of Rs 10,000 was also announced for each arrest. So far six people have been arrested. Rohit Girwal (23), Sandeep Waria (18) and Sachin Makwana (25) were arrested from the forest near the incident spot during the day. Three other accused Anil Baror (27) and Pawan Bansunia (23) and Ritesh Bhabhar (25) were arrested on Wednesday and Thursday.
The miscreants had reached the picnic spot at 2 o’clock
Let us tell you that the 23 and 24 year old army officers were doing Young Officers Course at the Infantry School in Mhow Cantonment town and had gone for a picnic with their two female friends. The accused reached the picnic spot at around 2 o’clock in the night and started attacking an officer and his female friend sitting in the car. Hearing the noise, other officers and their female friends present on the hill reached the spot.

After the police reached the spot, the officers and their female friends were brought to Mhow Civil Hospital, where medical examination confirmed that one of the women had been raped. Watch Video:-
A case was registered under sections 70 (gang-rape), 310-2 (robbery), 308-2 (extortion) and 115-2 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Arms Act.
Victim in shock, not ready to record statement
The SP said that the rape victim was in a state of shock and was not ready to record her statement at the moment. The police is trying to take the woman’s statement and is questioning the accused about the rape.
Dating app also mentioned
Meanwhile, a police officer dismissed as rumours the reports on social media that the officer and the young women had come in contact with each other on a dating app.
