In the ongoing political crisis and confusion in Bangladesh, many questions are arising in the minds of the people. The question is when will the situation in the country finally become normal. Aaj Tak is continuously reporting from ground zero. People’s life in Dhaka is moving towards normalcy but the pace is slow. There has been no incident of attack on Hindu minorities in the last 48 hours, but the wounds received after the 5th have not been healed yet.

At the same time, there is a fear in the minds of the Muslims of Bangladesh that their democratically run country may, under the pressure of fundamentalists, stop recognizing itself as a Bengali speaking country and become an Islamic country. While talking to Aaj Tak, Islam Mohammad, a resident of Dhaka, said that the identity of Bangladesh is of the Bengali people where Hindus and Muslims live together, but some people want a system like an Islamic country to be established here but we will not let this happen.

Niaz also runs a business in Dhaka and he also feels that the image of Bangladesh has been tarnished because of some fundamentalists, who attacked and targeted Hindus under the guise of the movement. Niaz says that many Hindus live with us and we are protecting them in this difficult situation and the people who did bad things to them are not among us. The head quarter of Bangladesh Awami League Party, just a short distance from Rashtrapati Bhavan in the most VIP area of Dhaka, was also the first target of protesters on August 5.

The anger may have subsided, but the scars of violence and arson are still fresh. Party supporter Karim Ul Haq told Aaj Tak that on that day the hoodlums not only vandalized the office with violence but also looted goods worth lakhs of rupees. From the room of party chief Sheikh Hasina to the party meeting hall and all parts of the building have been either burnt or vandalized.

Amidst this situation, police is missing from the streets of Bangladesh. The police head quarter in the middle of the city is also deserted, which is now being protected by the Bangladesh Army. During the demonstration, stones were pelted at police personnel and the police headquarters was also targeted, the scars of which are fresh. On Sunday, some policemen had come to protest outside the dilapidated and deserted head quarter, who want to go back to their jobs.

Karim, one of these police personnel, told Aaj Tak that the order to take strict action against the protest actions was given by Sheikh Hasina’s government and senior officials in the police department. Karim said that the police personnel had obeyed the orders of their officers and due to this order, today the people of the country are searching for the policemen, due to which all the police personnel are either underground or hiding. Let us also tell you that police stations were burnt in many areas across Bangladesh.

There are also head quarters of many television news channels around this VIP area, which came under fire during the protest. During this movement, those Muslims who had given shelter to Hindus were also targeted. Saiful Islam Patwari, a resident of Feni district, said that he had given shelter to many Hindus in his house during the violence, after which some miscreants living in the village burnt his car, vandalized his house and damaged property. Saiful has currently left his village and come to Dhaka and his family is now living alone, while the Hindus whom he had given shelter in his house have also left the village and gone to other safe areas.

The Parliament of Bangladesh is also deserted and the marks of vandalism are fresh outside the Parliament. At present, a contingent of Bangladesh Service and Navy is protecting the Parliament House, while the workers of student organizations who were involved in this demonstration are engaged in educational security arrangements outside the Parliament with the country’s flag raised above their heads so that people can again They should not be able to go inside the Parliament House and then the picture should not be seen in front of the world which had embarrassed the democracy of Bangladesh.

Journalists who have close relations with Awami League Party leaders are also receiving threats in Bangladesh. Journalist Zahid, who works for Awami League, said that there are many journalists who are getting threats and abusive language is being written against them on social media. At the same time, many leaders of Awami League Party have also gone underground, about whom no information is coming out.

In the same situation, the leader of Awami League, who lives underground, while hiding his name and identity, told Aaj Tak that BNP and other opposition parties had ignited this movement and Sheikh Hasina will once again return to Bangladesh. The Awami League leader said that in the current situation, life for his family is not as normal for him as before, hence many leaders like him have remained silent here and there because there is a threat to their lives. Currently, the command of Bangladesh is in the hands of an interim government, but the responsibility of the country is taken care of by the army and young students. The people of Bangladesh are also seeing clouds of uncertainty but there is also hope that everything will be fine soon.
