DEO Samba visits remote Paddal polling stations to create awareness among voters

In order to encourage voter participation, District Election Officer (DEO), Samba, Rajesh Sharma led a team of officials to the Padar polling station and conducted a systematic voter education and electoral participation drive.

The polling station is located in a remote village across the Devika River and requires a difficult trek to reach.

The DEO was accompanied by SSP Vinay Kumar, ADC Jagdish Singh, SVEEP Liaison Officer Ekshu Sharma and other government officials.

During the visit, DEO Rajesh Sharma and SSP Vinay Sharma interacted with residents of remote villages and encouraged them to actively participate in the electoral process and exercise their right to vote in the upcoming assembly elections scheduled on October 1, 2024.

The DEO stressed on the importance of every vote and the role of citizens in shaping the future of the country.

Besides inspecting the polling booths, the DEO also visited Padar Secondary School and interacted with teachers and students, stressing on the importance of education in developing an informed and responsible citizenship.

He also inspected the health and wellness centre in the village to take a look at the medical facilities provided to the residents.

The visit was part of SVEEP’s mega campaign to create awareness among people and ensure maximum voter turnout, especially in remote and far-flung areas of the district.
