Kathua, September 23: Kathua District Electoral Officer Dr Rakesh Minhas today held an important meeting with the Divisional Magistrate and Police Magistrate of Basoli to review preparations for the upcoming elections.
Returning Officer 65 Basoli AC Anil Kumar Thakur was also present.
The meeting focused on ensuring strict implementation of the Model Code of Conduct, maintaining law and order, and establishing effective communication between the election and law enforcement teams.
Dr. Minias stressed the need for timely response mechanisms and coordination to address any emerging challenges and urged officials to prioritize voter convenience and safety.
The district election officials also provided instructions to ensure proper management of polling stations, transportation of EVMs (electronic voting machines) and deployment of appropriate security measures to safeguard the democratic process. The meeting also discussed training requirements and logistical issues for handling sensitive polling stations.
He further advised the team to maintain transparency and fairness throughout the electoral process and reiterated that it is the responsibility of every official to ensure that there is no disparity or undue influence in the election.
