There are chances of heavy rain in Delhi on the occasion of Independence Day. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be light to moderate rain in Delhi today. Yellow alert continues in the capital till August 16. It has been raining every day in Delhi since last week. However, since yesterday i.e. 14th August, a decrease in rain activities has been observed. Meanwhile, the rainy season continues in the states of North and Eastern India. Rain is being seen in Jammu early in the morning. Now it remains to be seen whether the rain in the capital will disrupt the independence celebrations or not.

According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, light monsoon showers may occur in the national capital Delhi on Independence Day, which may have an impact on the grand ceremony, but, the flag hoisting ceremony to be held at the Red Fort early in the morning and the Prime Minister’s address to the country. Address can survive this rain. Amidst the high humidity, light clouds in the sky and light breeze will provide some relief to the people present during the program. Talking about the temperature, IMD has predicted that the maximum temperature today may be 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature may be 26 degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of a decline in both the temperatures as compared to yesterday. Let us tell you that active monsoon conditions in Delhi have surrounded the city for a long time. It has rained almost every day so far in the month of August. The main observatory located at Safdarjung has recorded 222.4 mm rainfall so far, while the normal average rainfall in this month is 233.1 mm. Very soon this figure will be crossed and there will be more rain than normal in the second half of the month.

Light to moderate rain is possible over West Bengal, Bihar, Sikkim, Northeast India, parts of Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Gujarat region. Light rain is possible in Ladakh, Punjab, Western Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
