A shocking robbery of a woman took place in the country’s capital, Delhi, where two robbers posed as policemen and soldiers, snatched her money and fled the scene.

Regarding the incident, the Delhi Police arrested two persons who robbed a woman by posing as policemen and army personnel, officials said on Sunday. He said the accused have been identified as Mohammad Shahrukh (28) and Satish Jaishwal (38).

According to the news agency, a senior police officer said that a woman filed a fraud complaint at the Kamala Market Police Station on September 6. The officer said: “According to the complainant, she was waiting for a bus at the bus stop.

The victim said that while waiting for the bus, one of the accused came to her in his car and asked for directions to Kapashela. He told that another accused standing at the bus stop replied that he knew the way and he was also going to Kapashela border and then got on the bus.

“The accused claimed to be police and army personnel and offered to take the woman to Kapashera border for free,” the officer said. The woman relented and sat in the car, following which the two accused snatched her mangalsutra and ATM card, police said. According to police, they checked CCTV footage and traced the car owner, based on which they found the accused and arrested them.
