Nilesh Rai’s death was investigated by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Patel Nagar.

In fact, on July 22, candidate Nilesh Rai had died after touching an electric gate in Patel Nagar area of ​​Central Delhi after heavy rains. Engineer Rai, a native of Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, had come out of his PG to buy something. In the investigation report, the SDM of Patel Nagar said that the wire of the water pump was in contact with the iron gate, which the victim accidentally touched. Because of this he died.

Situation worsened due to rain

The report said that the wire with damaged insulation was touching the iron gate at many places. This wire used to supply electricity to the water pump. The report said that the situation worsened due to heavy rain on the day of the incident, resulting in the death of the victim Nilesh Rai.

MCD launched a massive campaign

The SDM in his report has recommended police verification of all PG residences and ensuring the security of all such residences and residential libraries. Besides, MCD has also been asked to run a comprehensive campaign to regulate.

The woman had arrived after hearing the scream

According to the information, when Nilesh Rai was returning to the PG after drinking tea in the afternoon, there was water outside the gate of the street and there was current in the gate. The young man got caught in the same current. When a woman ironing clothes nearby heard the scream, she ran to the spot. According to the eyewitness woman, the young man kept screaming for help for a long time, but it was too late when people reached the spot for help. Due to fear of electric shock, people avoided going near it for a long time.
