According to IMD, due to monsoon trough, there is a yellow alert of rain in Delhi-NCR till September 13. Rain will reduce from September 14. At the same time, it will decrease further between September 15 and 17.

Meanwhile, the date of departure of monsoon is also coming soon. According to the report of Skymet Weather, the date of departure of monsoon has been changed after the year 2019. Now the date of departure of monsoon in the western areas of Rajasthan is 17 September. Statistics show that in the last few years, there has been a delay in the withdrawal of monsoon. Between the years 2017 to 2022, it has happened between 20 September to 6 October. In the year 2023, the monsoon returned from North India on 25 September. The fixed date of withdrawal of monsoon from Delhi is 2 September, whereas last year this departure happened in the first week of October.

According to the data of the Meteorological Department (IMD), the national capital has recorded 913.1 mm of rain so far this monsoon, which is 56 percent more than normal. Mahesh Palawat, an expert at weather forecasting agency Skymet Weather, said that this year Delhi has seen an unusually high number of rainy days. The city received fewer rainy days in July but two or three days of heavy rain contributed significantly to the total rainfall. Similarly, the number of rainy days was higher in August, which increased the overall rainfall.
