According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, the main reason for the rain in Delhi was the depression formed in western UP and the proximity of the seasonal monsoon trough. Now it (depression) has weakened and moved away from the Delhi region. With the shifting of the system (depression), the monsoon trough will also move away from Delhi. The cyclonic circulation of the weak system is now located over northwestern Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, due to which the monsoon trough will move north from Delhi near the foothills of West UP and Uttarakhand.
