Delhi pollution: Parking charges increased, diesel generators banned… These restrictions imposed due to pollution, know today’s AQI

With the onset of winter in the National Capital Territory of Delhi, pollution has also reached dangerous levels. After 94 days, Delhiites were breathing “very poor” quality air on Monday, with the city’s average AQI hitting 310. Meanwhile, Delhi has imposed Group 2 restrictions. CAQM issues this order when AQI levels exceed 300. Grap-2 went into effect this morning. Even today, October 22, Delhi’s air quality remains “very poor”. According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi’s average air quality index was 317 around 8 am today.

Wind speed will slow down and pollution will increase

It is estimated that pollution in Delhi is likely to increase further from tomorrow. The AQI is likely to exceed 400 from October 22 to 23. The reason for the increase in pollution is the contribution of crop burning, which is increasing as a pollutant. At the same time, unfavorable meteorological conditions such as slow wind speeds and high humidity keep pollutants in our breathing spaces.

How is air quality measured?

A place is considered “good” if its AQI is between 0 and 50, “satisfactory” if its AQI is between 51 and 100, and “satisfactory” if its AQI is between 101 and 200 , is considered “satisfactory”. If a place’s AQI is between 201 and 300, it is considered “moderate.” If the area’s AQI is considered “poor”. If the AQI is between 301 and 400, it is considered to be in the “very bad” category, and if the AQI is between 401 and 500, it is considered to be in the “severe” category. Air pollution can cause many diseases.
