The SHO of Jamia Nagar police station was beaten by a father and son on a bicycle while patrolling in Batla House area in southeast Delhi. While on patrol, the SHO asked to stop and inspect a bullet that was making a loud noise. A silencer is installed on the bike.
At around 8:45 pm, SHO Narpal Singh along with the patrol team reached Batla House in Jamia Nagar. Here, his attention was drawn to a bicycle that was traveling from Kabulistan Chowk to Zakir Nagar Market and was making a lot of noise. He instructed staff to stop the motorcycle for investigation.
Increase the sound of your bike by installing a silencer
The investigation found that the bicycle was illegally equipped with a muffler, causing its sound to exceed the permitted limit, in violation of the Motor Vehicles Act. Thereafter, the SHO directed to initiate legal proceedings against the cyclist, 24-year-old Asif.
“Compromise here or it’s not right”
Meanwhile, Asif called his father and asked him to come to the spot. The father and son forcibly took the bullet from the policeman and said, “We must compromise here and let it go, otherwise it will be wrong.” The police station refused and started a struggle with him.
The father was arrested and the son was beaten
When SHO tried to stop the father and son, Asif’s father Riyazuddin grabbed SHO and Asif punched him near the eye. He later had to be admitted to the hospital. Jamia Nagar police station has arrested two accused.
