It has been raining in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida and surrounding areas since late night and this trend has continued for half a day now. A wall of the crematorium in Paharganj collapsed amid the rain. A house collapsed in Nabi Karim area. Two people have been rescued from the debris.

The situation is getting worse due to waterlogging at many places. If this situation continues, the situation can get more serious. The traffic police is also trying to keep the situation normal and is constantly issuing updates.

  • According to the traffic police, traffic on both carriageways on Anuvrat Marg is affected due to waterlogging near Qutub Minar Metro station. Passengers are advised to plan their journey keeping this in mind.
  • Due to waterlogging near Khanpur village, traffic on MB Road is affected in the carriageway from Hamdard T-point towards Khanpur. Apart from this, buses are breaking down at many places, due to which traffic is getting affected. However, the traffic police is engaged in improving the situation.

Let us tell you that the Meteorological Department had already predicted continuous heavy rain (70-200 mm) in Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Chandigarh till the first part of the day on Friday. Waterlogging was reported in low-lying areas. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in Delhi till September 13. Today there is an alert of moderate rain in Delhi. After this, a decrease in rain is expected.

Now it has met this depression. This depression is moving towards the north-west direction at a speed of 8 km/hr. Its effect is being seen more in Gwalior, Agra, Jhansi and Aligarh. Slowly it moved towards north-north-east. Its effect is being seen in Delhi.
