Air pollution in the National Capital Region of Delhi has reached deadly levels, with AQI levels exceeding 500 in most places. In such a situation, it becomes difficult for people to even breathe. Pollution levels have increased in Delhi and across the country in recent times, but there is one state that is not affected by air pollution. Yes, you heard it right, on one hand, pollution is present in all states of India and on the other hand, there is one state that is not polluted at all.
Pollution levels have suddenly increased in states across the country over the past few days. Recently, iipmaps.com released an air pollution map of the country. In this map, pollution levels are measured by the number of cigarettes. This means that the more severe the air pollution, the greater the number of cigarettes. If we look at the pollution in Delhi from this map, the air here has become so toxic that people living here are inhaling the smoke equivalent of 40 cigarettes if they continue to breathe open air. The same is true in states surrounding Delhi.
The air in these states is suffocating
If the pollution level of cigarettes is measured, then people living in Delhi smoke 40 cigarettes every day. The number of cigarettes in Haryana is 29. However, except Delhi and Haryana, the pollution levels in other states were below 10 cigarettes. Bihar ranks third most polluted with 10 cigarettes. In Uttar Pradesh, the number remains 9.5. Madhya Pradesh’s pollution levels are equivalent to 5.5 cigarettes. In Rajasthan and Punjab, the pollution levels were as high as 7.5 and 6.5 cigarettes respectively. In Odisha and West Bengal, the number of 7.5 cigarettes is shown.

This happens in states where residents have difficulty breathing. In these states, people who already have lung disease face additional problems. There are also many complaints about eye irritation. However, there is one state in the country where the effects of pollution are less pronounced. The name of this state is Ladakh. Yes, Ladakh is one of the Union Territories in the country and has the lowest air pollution levels. According to this map, people in Ladakhi currently inhale 0 cigarette smoke throughout the day. However, if we compare the pollution situation in Jammu and Kashmir and Northeast Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, people here inhale the equivalent of 0.5 cigarette smoke every day cigarette.
