Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
All the BJP MPs in Delhi have moved the Delhi High Court seeking benefits from the central government health scheme Ayushman to senior citizens in Delhi. A BJP MP has filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking directions from the central government to implement a scheme to provide free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh to senior citizens above the age of 70 in Delhi.
The petition claimed that the Delhi government was not implementing this healthcare scheme of the central government and the Prime Minister himself was worried that the elderly people of Delhi would not be able to benefit from the scheme.
State President Virendra Sachdeva, in a press conference on Wednesday, accused former Prime Minister Arvind Kejriwal of depriving hundreds of thousands of eligible people in Delhi of the health insurance scheme.

Sachdeva alleged that then Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had earlier announced in the Delhi Assembly that the Ayushmann Bharat Scheme would be implemented in Delhi, but he reneged on his promise.
He said the BJP will now fight a legal battle to ensure that senior citizens and other eligible people in Delhi also benefit from the scheme.
Arvind Kejriwal alleged irregularities
Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal claimed that there were many irregularities in the Ayushman Bharat scheme as per the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India. He had said that there was no need to implement this scheme in Delhi as the Delhi government provides free medical services to the people.
He had said that everything from medicines worth five rupees to surgeries worth one crore rupees are provided free treatment in Delhi hospitals. If treatment in Delhi was free, there would be no need for the Ayushman Bharat scheme here.
He had said that Prime Minister Modi should study Delhi’s health scheme and implement it across the country.
