Police have arrested a man for the murder of a property dealer in Delhi’s Narela area. A 30-year-old accused has been arrested for shooting a property dealer dead and injuring two people in his office in North Delhi’s Narela area, officials said on Saturday.

There was a dispute over 20 thousand rupees

He said the dispute started over the payment of Rs 20,000 borrowed by the accused’s friend. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North) Ravi Kumar Singh said the incident was reported at Veer Properties in Narela where the owner Manish was found dead while his two friends Praveen and Kulbir alias Kalu were injured in the firing.

The officer said Deepak alias Jitendra, who had fled from the crime scene, was arrested from the same area late Saturday night. Deepak revealed that Manish also ran a finance business by lending money on interest, the officer said.

The accused had become the guarantor of the borrower

He said Deepak had become a guarantor for a loan of Rs 20,000 to an acquaintance of his who lives in Bihar. The man left for Bihar without returning the money and after that Manish started threatening Deepak to return his money, the official said.

On the day of the incident, Deepak went to Veer Properties office with his friends where a fight broke out between them after an argument over payment of money. A police officer said, Deepak had a pistol which he had bought from Jammu and Kashmir and took it out and started firing at Manish and others in his office.

Tired of threats, he was murdered

During interrogation, Deepak said that he was fed up with the threats given by Manish and during that fight he decided to eliminate him. After the incident, Deepak fled from the spot along with his friends in a Hyundai i-20 car. The officer said that efforts are being made to recover the weapon of crime and nab the co-accused involved in the case.
