A woman committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving metro train at Pitampura metro station in the country’s capital Delhi.A 53-year-old woman was seriously injured after jumping in front of a moving metro train on Friday afternoon, officials said.

Due to this incident, the services of the Red Line of Delhi Metro were also disrupted for some time. Let us tell you that the Red Line Metro runs from Rithala in Delhi to Ghaziabad (New Bus Stand) in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the news agency, an official said the Metro Police Station received information that a woman jumped off a train at Pitampura Metro Station at 2.23 pm.

Woman’s right hand accidentally cut off

Metro staff have rushed the critically injured woman to BSA Hospital in Rohini. A police team took the woman to the hospital, the officer said. The woman’s right hand was amputated in the accident.

The official said the woman is receiving treatment at the hospital and her family has been informed. Police are further investigating the matter. A senior DMRC official said that around 2:30 pm, the Pitampura metro station on the Red Line was delayed for 15 to 20 minutes due to the woman jumping on the tracks, after which the metro services were resumed again.
