Defense Ministry finds Indian company Larsen and Toubro (L&T)’s tender irregularities $The tender was invited to purchase six submarines at a cost of Rs 70,000 crore.

The Indian Navy is looking to acquire six advanced submarines capable of staying underwater for three weeks under the India 75 programme.

Defense Ministry sources told ANI that L&T’s proposal to tie up with Spain’s Navantia has been rejected by the Indian Ministry of Defense as the proposal does not meet the requirements of the Indian Navy.

L&T and its partners demonstrated the capabilities of its key air-independent propulsion system to an Indian Navy team ashore in Spain, but the Indian Navy’s requirements in the tender document called for a system that is proven at sea.
