‘Deal for Rs 6 lakh to pay off debt’, 2 arrested for cheating in UP constable recruitment

Two candidates were arrested on the second day of the police recruitment exam in Saharanpur. Both of them had cheated to appear in the exam. The name of the first youth arrested is Akash. He had made a deal for Rs 6 lakh and planned to appear in the exam in place of someone else. The name of the second youth is Pawan Kumar Sharma. Pawan had tried to appear in the exam by changing the date of birth in his Aadhar card due to his advanced age. The police have arrested both of them from different schools.

Police said that on the second day, a candidate Akash was arrested from Guru Nanak Girls Inter College in Qutubsher area. Akash is a resident of Bulandshahr and teaches at Shrestha Coaching Center in Jahangirpur. He told the police that he had struck a deal with a youth named Vishnu Kumar for Rs 6 lakh. Vishnu Kumar was a student of his coaching institute.

The deal was done for 6 lakh rupees

According to the police, Vishnu had lent Rs 50,000 to Akash a year ago. In return for this loan, Vishnu proposed to Akash to appear in the exam in his place and the deal was fixed between the two for Rs 6 lakh. Accused Akash prepared a fake Aadhar card and admit card of Vishnu by pasting his photo on Vishnu’s Aadhar card and admit card. After this, he reached to appear in the exam in place of Vishnu on 24 August 2024. During this, the police reached the spot and arrested him.

Akash said that he agreed to take the exam because he needed money and was unable to repay Vishnu’s loan. The second arrest was made from JV Jain Degree College in Sadar Bazar area. Police arrested Pawan Kumar Sharma from here. Pawan is a resident of Bulandshahr and his date of birth is 14 April 1995. Due to the age for government job being over, Pawan changed his real name from Pawan Kumar Sharma to Pawan Bhardwaj and his date of birth to 14 January 2002 in his Aadhar card. After this, he passed the 10th and 12th exams with the changed name and date of birth.

Pawan Kumar Sharma told the police that he had passed the 10th exam in 2019 and the 12th exam in 2021 through private medium. On this basis, he had come to give the police recruitment exam. The police also arrested him and sent both the accused to jail. Giving information in the case, SP City Abhimanyu Manglik said that on the second day of police recruitment, there were two centers in Saharanpur district. From where two accused have been arrested. Both have also been sent to jail.
