Delhi Development Authority Housing (DDA)’s ‘Affordable Home’ and ‘Middle Class Housing Scheme’ for the year 2024 have received a tremendous response from buyers on the first day of booking. The extent to which people are fond of this scheme of DDA can be easily gauged by looking at the sales figures of the first day. In fact, more than 1100 flats of these schemes were sold within just four hours of the start of booking on Tuesday.

Highest sales in this area of Delhi
The response received by DDA’s Sasta Ghar and Madhyam Vargiya Housing Scheme shows the strong demand for affordable and middle-income housing options in the capital Delhi. Meanwhile, the maximum number of DDA flats were sold in Rohini and 450 flats were booked here in these four hours. This area of Delhi seems to be the most popular in terms of shopping. Apart from this, more than 100 flats were sold in Ramgarh Colony, while all the 41 units offered in Jasola were sold in a short time.

Enthusiasm of home buyers in Narela
With over 350 flats booked in Narela, the response from buyers in the area is encouraging as Narela has seen substantial government investment in civic infrastructure, which has led to a surge in demand for affordable homes in the area. Major development projects here include a university campus, a proposed international sports complex and a court complex as well as policing services. Along with this, increased connectivity to Narela has also played a key role in the surge in sales, especially with the government’s approval of the Delhi Metro’s Rithala-Narela-Kundli corridor.

How many flats in total in both schemes
Registration for these DDA schemes began on 22 August. This scheme will remain open till 31 March 2025. Actually, all these flats are ready and buyers can start living here immediately. There are 34177 flats under the first ‘cheapest house’ scheme, whose price ranges from Rs 11.90 lakh to Rs 25.6 lakh. There are a total of 726 flats in Rohini, all of which are LIG. The cheapest houses are available in Narela. These flats will be sold under the ‘first come, first serve’ scheme.

Second Scheme – Middle Class Housing Scheme 2024 (DDA Madhyam Vargiya Housing Scheme 2024) A total of 5,531 flats are available for sale under DDA’s ‘Middle Class Housing Scheme 2024’. Under this scheme, there are flats of HIG, MIG, LIG and EWS categories in Jasola, Loknayakpuram and Narela. Their starting price is Rs 29 lakh, while the price of 89 HIG flats located in Jasola ranges from Rs 2.08 crore to Rs 2.18 crore.

What is the first come first served scheme?
Actually, earlier DDA flats were allotted through a draw. The person who got a house in the draw was considered very lucky. But most of the people were not able to get their favourite flat. Because allotment was done through a draw. But now under ‘first come, first serve’, the desired flat will be available. Under this, the customer has to first register for the flat by depositing the registration amount and registration does not mean booking.

Only those who have already registered are eligible to apply for a flat. Then on the date of booking, the customer who has registered with DDA can go and do all the other investigations including a sample flat. The flat will be shown to the customer before the house is allotted. When the customer likes the house, then the registration process begins. Seeing these figures of sales on the first day itself, it can be said that DDA’s first come, first served scheme has been successful.
