French aircraft manufacturer Dassault Aviation is reportedly setting up a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) facility near Noida to support the Indian Air Force’s French-made fighter jets such as the Rafale and Mirage 2000. Year.

For the new MRO company, Dassault informed the Union Ministry of Defense that they will appoint Indian national and old Dassault representative in India, Posina Venkata Rao, as CEO.

Rao has been associated with Dassault Aviation in India for decades and will have a workforce of French and Indian nationals in his team.

Other plans:

Among other plans, Dassault said it plans to gradually expand DAMROI’s MRO activities in partnership with the Indian aerospace industry ecosystem, which will expand support for French fighter jets.

During the final phase of operations in India, Jaguar deep penetration fighters could also receive MRO support as they also had links with France. Dassault is in talks with the Indian Navy for a deal to sell Rafale fighter jets.

According to the plan, Dassault is considering purchasing 26 such aircraft for the Indian Navy, which will be deployed on the “Vikrant” aircraft carrier. The Indian Air Force has also prepared two bases at Ambala and Hashimala for Rafale fighter jets.
