Darwin Archives, Geneva Conference now in UNESCO Memory of World Register

Volunteer Charles Darwin’s life and work -related to heritage inheritance, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the United Nations in 1948 (UDHR) and the purpose of limiting the cruelty of war in geneva conferences are the main rules that are now part of UNESCO’s World Register’s memory.

The world body has added 74 new documentary heritage collections to its memory of the World Register, causing the total number of collections to 570.

Between the new-Emude Collection, 14 scientific documentaries belong to the heritage.

Darwin’s archives, German philosophers, poet and musician Frederick Nietzsche’s literary property, and Radiographs of Wilhem Conrad Roentzen Estate now find a place in the prestigious register.

The principle of development of Darwin by natural selection brought a revolution to the human understanding of nature and humanity.

“A remarkable collection of Darwin’s professional life is preserved in several institutions, including Cambridge University Library, English Heritage (Down House), The Natural History Museum, The Linian Society, The Linian Society, Royal Botanic Garden Kev and John Mai Maira in the National Library of Scotland,” UNESCOs called the new looks.

They record their early research during the Beagle journey, their first speculation on the principle of the species, their broad observation and experiments, their cooperation with the people and their complex reception of their work. The collection includes early photos, correspondence and notebooks, UNESCO said.

The nomination was sent by the United Kingdom.

Some historical treaties marking the major milestone of multilateralism have also been included in the register.

Many collections documentation of major moments in international cooperation, including Geneva Conferences (1864–1949) and their protocols (1977–2005), UDHR and 1991 Windhoke Declaration, a global reference for Press Freedom, UNESCO said in a statement on Thursday.

“Geneva Convention (1864, 1906, 1929, 1949) and additional protocols (1977, 2005) are international treaties, including the main rules aimed at limiting the cruelty of war. They protect all those who do not participate in hostility – such as civil, medical individuals and humanitarian organizations.

“As the foundation stone of the International Human law, the Geneva Conference reflects the desire of the parties of the states to protect people affected by armed conflicts. Switzerland acts as a depository and is responsible for preserving the original documents,” said.

The nomination was presented by Switzerland.

International Bill of Human Rights – Drapsing the official documents of the United Nations Archives and the United Nations – is one of the new entrances of the UNESCO register from 1946 to 1966.

“For the first time in history, in 1948, countries agreed to a comprehensive list of disqualified and inseparable human rights. In December of that year, the United Nations General Assembly adopted the universal announcement (UDHR), a historical document, which has deeply shaped the development of the International Human Rights Act,” its cation has written.

The draft was drafted by representatives of various legal and cultural backgrounds around the world, declared by the General Assembly as a common standard of achievement for all people and nations.

“It determines the fundamental human rights to universally preserved and translated into more than 550 languages. The UDHR has paved the way to adopt more than 70 human rights treaties, which is today applied on permanent basis at global and regional levels,” citation says.

According to UNESCO, scientific revolutions, women’s contribution in history and major milestones of four international organizations from 72 countries and four international organizations have been included.

Archives about the formation of an association of South East Asian nations (ASEAN) are also now on the UNESCO register.

The nomination was presented by Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

Archives record the installation of ASEAN by their five founding countries – Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. The collection includes the 1967 ASEAN announcements and related records, including 16 text files, a picture, a film, three audio files and 12 oral history interview recording, reading its quotes.

The archives serve as an original reference to ASEAN diplomacy, later known as “ASEAN WE”, citation.

The register includes books, manuscripts, maps, photos, sound or video recording as a documentary heritage of humanity in the register.

This year’s theme for World Heritage Day, “Heritage Under Thhad Under Thhad Um Disaster and Conflict”, where natural or man -made disasters, dangers or conflicts are spreading awareness on the safety of heritage sites.

Discovered by a British engineer in Sri Lanka in 1911, the trolley inscription is now preserved at the Colombo National Museum, which displayed a replica in the Gall National Museum. The nomination was presented by China and Sri Lanka.
