West Bengal and Odisha are on alert due to Dana storm. Primary and secondary schools in nine districts of Bangladesh will remain closed from Wednesday to October 26. All schools in 14 districts of Odisha have been ordered to close from October 23 to 25. Storm Dana has moved toward the East Coast Tuesday morning. The IMD said Odisha will have to face this problem. The storm will hit the coast of north Odisha and southern West Bengal between Puri and Sagar islands on the morning of October 25.

When the storm hits the coast, wind speeds will reach 100 to 110 kilometers per hour. This wind speed can reach 120 kilometers per hour. The Odisha government has canceled the leave of all employees from October 23 to 25. More than 160 trains have been cancelled.

Odisha government on alert

The Odisha government is on alert to deal with the dharna. The state government has asked for 10 more NDRF teams. The Revenue and Disaster Management Minister said existing teams of the NDRF have been deployed to areas where Dana is likely to hit. At the same time, 17 teams of the Odisha State Disaster Rapid Response Force will also be deployed in 10 districts.

The government is prepared for the storm

Not only that, the other three ODRAF teams will also remain on alert. The weather department has issued an appeal to fishermen in view of the storm. It is said that they should not go into the sea between October 23 and 25. In view of Storm Dhana, Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said the government is ready to deal with any disaster. As a precautionary measure, the CM has ordered primary and secondary schools in nine districts to close from Wednesday to October 26.

Fishermen are advised not to go into the sea

NDRF and SDRF teams have been deployed. Control rooms carry out monitoring at state and district levels. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said the state government is ready to deal with the cyclone. Fishermen were asked not to go into the sea. DMs and SPs have been asked to keep a close watch on the situation till the situation returns to normal.

The storm is likely to have a huge impact on 24 districts south and north of Parganas, east Medinipur and coastal areas. The impact of the storm can also be seen in West Medinipur, Bankura, Hooghly and Jhagram. In view of the storm, schools in North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, West Medinipur, East Medinipur, Howrah, Hooghly, Jhargram, Bankura and Kolkata will remain closed from Wednesday till October 26.
