A new cyclone is intensifying in the Bay of Bengal. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the low pressure in the Bay of Bengal has intensified and turned into deep pressure. Today, Wednesday, the cyclone will become a hurricane. However, the impact of this cyclone will not be particularly noticeable in Bengal, but the cyclone will hit Tamil Nadu. The cyclone was named “Style”.
According to the weather forecast, Cyclone Fungal is located 770 kilometers south-southeast of Chennai. Crossing the Tamil Nadu coast, it will move northwest towards the Sri Lankan coast over the next two days. As a result, the state has issued a heavy rain forecast. Rains started falling in Tamil Nadu from Tuesday. Under this condition, moderate to heavy rain is likely to occur in Chennai, Chengalpet, Kanchipuram and Tiruvallur.
