Created six fake firms and committed GST fraud of Rs 34.23 crore… Mastermind arrested

A case of GST fraud of Rs 34.23 crore has come to light in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. In this regard, the team of Central Goods and Services Tax (CGST) and Central Excise arrested an accused. Officials say that so far 19 tax evaders have been arrested in Chhattisgarh.

According to the agency, the accused had created fake firms to avail fake input tax credit of Rs 34.23 crore in Raipur city of Chhattisgarh. CGST personnel conducted a search operation, in which 6 fake firms were revealed. All these firms were preparing fake invoices without supplying any goods.

When this entire matter was investigated, it was found that a person named Badal Gaur, resident of Raipur, had created these fake firms. He was the mastermind behind creating this entire network. He has confessed during interrogation that he created fake firms for fake input tax credit.

Accused Badal Gaur has admitted to taking fake credit of Rs 29.13 crore and giving Rs 34.23 crore to several other people. After arresting the accused Badal Gaur, the team produced him in the local court, from where he has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. Officials say that till now the GST department has arrested 19 tax evaders in Chhattisgarh.
