Ramgiri Maharaj, head of Sarala Bet of Shrirampur, had given a controversial statement regarding the religious leader of the Muslim community. Hurt by this, the Muslim community took to the streets demanding the arrest of Ramgiri Maharaj.

Video of sermon went viral
A few days ago, Ramgiri Maharaj was called for a sermon in Panchale village in Sinnar tehsil of Nashik district. The video of the controversial statement he had given at that time has now gone viral on social media. In this case, the police have registered a case against Ramgiri Maharaj in Vaijapur of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Yeola of Nashik.
Protests and agitations were held in various areas of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar against Ramgiri Maharaj who used abusive language about Prophet Mohammad. During this period many shops were also closed. It was fortunate that the police did not have to use force here and people went to their homes only after police assurance.
FIR registered against Ramgiri Maharaj
After Friday prayers, a large number of people gathered outside the City Chowk police station. These people said that action should be taken against Ramgiri Maharaj. The police gave assurance to everyone and sent them to their respective homes. Late night, agitation was organized against Ramgiri Maharaj in Vaijapur and Gangapur of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar and the road was also blocked. After this the police has registered an FIR against Ramgiri Maharaj.
Shiv Sena demanded investigation
Shiv Sena Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar President Rajendra Janjal reached the Police Commissioner’s office and gave a memorandum to the Police Commissioner. While talking to the media, he said that the statement given by Baba should be investigated because Ramgiri Maharaj does not give statements without facts. A conspiracy is being hatched to spoil the atmosphere because the festival of Rakhi is about to come.

Former MP Imtiaz Jaleel has said that Muslims can tolerate everything but cannot tolerate statements insulting Prophet Mohammad in the whole world.
