Constable arrested for demanding Rs 1 crore from relative in Mathura, threatened to kill if money was not given

In Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, the police has arrested a constable after he demanded Rs 1 crore. Officials said that the police arrested the constable on Sunday. The accused policeman had threatened to kidnap and kill a family member if he did not pay Rs 1 crore.

According to the report of the news agency, Jaint police station in-charge Ashwani Kumar said that on August 5, Aziz Gautam, posted in the district jail, had threatened his family relative Ramkumar Gautam of kidnapping and killing his son Anuj (21).

He told that when Aziz, a resident of Madhera village of Jaint police station area, came to know that Ramkumar was going to get more than Rs 2 crore from a land deal, he made a plan.

The officer said that the accused constable was arrested near his village with a country-made pistol and cartridges. He told that three associates of Aziz involved in this case were earlier arrested from Chhatapur in Madhya Pradesh.
