A horrific incident of murder of a 28-year-old woman has come to light in Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh. Police have arrested two people in this case, one of whom is the husband of the deceased woman and the other is her lover. The murderers had hatched the conspiracy after watching the Bollywood movie ‘Drishyam’. They also tried to escape by adopting the tricks shown in the film, but the police caught both of them.
Kabirdham’s Additional Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar said that on July 22, Ramkhilavan Sahu, a resident of Kalyanpur village in the district, lodged a complaint about his daughter’s disappearance at Lohara police station. After this, a police team was formed to search him. It is being told that the woman’s husband had left her three years ago on suspicion of infidelity. After this she went to her ancestral home in Kalyanpur.
The victim and her husband Lukesh Sahu (29) were divorced. He was giving monthly maintenance to the woman for her three children on the orders of the court. Because of this he had accumulated debt. Here the woman started living in a live-in relationship with another person, Raja Ram, who lives in her parents’ house. She also kept asking for money from her lover, due to which he got fed up with her.
According to Raja Ram, he had given Rs 1.50 lakh in cash and electronic gadgets from his shop to the victim. Meanwhile Raja Ram and Lukesh Sahu met. Both of them already knew each other and wanted to get rid of the woman. So both of them decided to kill him. Both of them were planning to murder the woman for a month. During this he watched Ajay Devgan’s film ‘Drishyam’.
During police interrogation, the accused told that they had watched the film ‘Drishyam’ not once but four times, so that they could learn the methods of murder and hatch a conspiracy to avoid arrest. On July 19, Raja Ram called the woman and took her to Ghanikhuta forest on a bike. Lukesh also reached there as per the pre-planned conspiracy. Both the men allegedly strangulated the woman with her saree.
After this both of them buried his body below the valley. Bike and mobile phone thrown in Karranala barrage. Her jewelery was also hidden under the ground near an electric pole in the village. The agricultural tools used to dig a pit to bury the body were thrown into a drain near a government school. But during the investigation, the police arrested him on the basis of technical evidence, call details and interrogation.
The police officer said that the victim’s body, bike, jewelery and items used in the crime have been recovered. Both the accused Raja Ram and Lukesh Sahu were arrested on Sunday. Further investigation into this incident is ongoing.
