Congress wins 29 seats in Jharkhand! Maharashtra to decide on seat-sharing formula tomorrow

A meeting of the party’s Central Election Committee (CEC) was held at the Congress headquarters in Delhi on Monday to chart the strategy for the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Party President Malikajun Khargage, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and General Secretary Venugopal, Madhusudan Mistry, Salman Khushid attended the meeting. Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole, Mumbai Congress president Varsha Gaikwad and Congress MP Ramesh, who is in charge of Maharashtra elections ·Ramesh Chennithala attended the meeting.

According to Congress sources, all parties in the Indian block have reached a consensus on the distribution of seats for the Jharkhand elections. The JMM is likely to contest on 41 seats, the Congress on 29 seats, the RJD on six seats and the Left party on five seats. Another round of talks will be held among MVA allies in Maharashtra on the seat-sharing issue. Congress finalizes list of 50 candidates for Maharashtra

MVA 30-40 seats issue stuck, meeting will be held again tomorrow
