Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari participated in Aaj Tak’s special program ‘Panchayat Aaj Tak’ and answered all the questions frankly. He said that he is doing door-to-door campaign and the biggest issue among the people is unemployment. Bukhari said that he is not a part of any alliance.

Regarding the name of his party, Altaf Bukhari said, ‘We named the party thinking that people should feel that it is their party. It is not related to any family.’ He was asked how different is the current election in Jammu and Kashmir from the previous elections and what are the challenges for political parties.

“If you want rights, use your vote”

Bukhari replied, ‘Parties like us have worked hard in the last five years. There was darkness at that time. 5 August 2019 was a dark day, it is true. In such a situation, gathering courage and telling people that life has to go on. We have also heard a lot of bad things. We told people that if you want your rights back, then use your vote.’

Unemployment is the biggest issue

On opposition parties calling them BJP’s ‘B team’, Bukhari said, ‘Kashmiris always look at Delhi with suspicion. Not because it is a psychological effect but because Delhi has done the same thing to us in 74 years. This is a very easy narrative. Whoever comes new, call them ‘B team’. People understand, people will decide.’

On Farooq Abdullah taking off his cap, he said, ‘It was an appeal from his heart. Those of us who are in politics, we too have a heart.’ He said, ‘I am doing a door-to-door campaign. The biggest issue is unemployment. There are two to three graduates in every house.’

‘We are not in any alliance’

He said, ‘We are not with any alliance. If we get success, we will go among the people. There is as much hatred for Congress here as there is for BJP because the governments of Delhi have only caused bloodshed here.’
