Congress leaders issue declaration.
A day ahead of the first phase of polling in Jharkhand, the Congress issued a manifesto during a “silent period”. The BJP objected to this, saying it was a violation of rules, and complained to the National Election Commission. The BJP said the Congress violated the constitution and electoral rules. Therefore, action should be taken against him. Officials have submitted a report to the country’s electoral commission.
A delegation of the BJP led by Sudhir Srivastava arrived at the Election Commission. The BJP said action should be taken against all leaders who issued manifestos in Ranchi during Tuesday’s silence. The silent period begins at 5 p.m. the day before the election (the 11th). No declarations can be made during this period.
Sudhir Srivastava said the Congress leaders ignored the Election Commission’s orders and made a public declaration in the capital Ranchi. The party delegation demanded strict action against these leaders. So that no party attempts to do such work in the future.
In a manifesto issued by the Jharkhand office, Congress president Mallikarjun Haq made seven promises to the people.
- Committed to introducing a policy of regionalism based on the Khatian 1932, implementing the religious code of the Sarna tribe and protecting regional language and culture.
- Under the Maniya Samman Yojana, an honorarium of Rs 2,500 will be paid from December 2024.
- ST-28%, SC-12%, OBC 27% and are determined to protect the interests of minorities. It was also decided to set up a Ministry of Welfare of Backward Classes.
- Ration distribution: Each person is allocated 7 kilograms of rations. In addition, every poor family in the state will be provided with a gas cylinder at a price of Rs 450.
- Jobs and employment opportunities will be provided to 10 lakh young men and women in Jharkhand. Family health insurance up to Rs 15 lakh will be provided.
- Degree colleges will be constructed in all blocks of the state and engineering and medical colleges will be constructed in the district headquarters. In addition to bringing in industrial promotion policies to provide employment opportunities, 500-500 acres of industrial parks will be built in all district headquarters of the state.
- With the minimum support price of paddy being increased from Rs 2,400 to Rs 3,200, the support price of Lah-Sal seeds, etc. will also be increased by 50%. The support price of tamarind, mahua, vironji sal seeds, etc. will be increased by up to 50%.
