Congress leaders unhappy with seat sharing in Jammu and Kashmir, controversy over giving more seats to NC in Hindu-dominated areas

Assembly elections are going to be held soon in Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, there is news that some Congress leaders are not happy with the seat sharing with the National Conference.

According to sources, a section of Congress says that National Conference is getting more seats. Many Congress leaders say that under seat sharing, many Hindu majority seats of Jammu have come in the share of National Conference.

In Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference and Congress are going to contest the assembly elections together. Both the parties will field their candidates on 85 seats. Under this, Farooq Abdullah’s National Conference will contest on 51 seats while Congress will contest on 32 seats. There is an agreement to give one seat each to CPI (M) and Panthers.

Announcing the alliance, Farooq Abdullah had said that talks with Congress for seat sharing in Jammu and Kashmir have been completed. Out of 90, NC will contest on 51 seats and Congress on 32 and it has been agreed that 5 seats have been left for friendly fight. One seat has been kept for CPI(M) and one for Panthers Party.

Let us tell you that assembly elections are going to be held in Jammu and Kashmir after 10 years. After the abolition of 370, Jammu and Kashmir was made a union territory. After this, elections are going to be held for the first time. Elections will be held in three phases. Voters will cast their votes for the 90 assembly seats of the state on 18 September, 25 September and 1 October. The election results will be declared on 4 October.
