Assembly elections are ongoing in Maharashtra and Maha Vikas Aghadi is struggling with Mahajyuti over seat-sharing. On Wednesday, Shiv Sena (Uddhav) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut took a dig at the Congress leaders for dragging their feet on seat-sharing.

Sanjay Raut said that the Congress party is very busy these days. Very busy. Congress leaders are too busy to spare even 10 days. They give one date after another. They are very busy, but we called them and said that this matter should be resolved now, and we will sit down and talk for the next three days.

Seat sharing to be discussed for three days

Raut said Uddhav Thackeray will hold a meeting with other allies including Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP (Sharad Pawar) in Mumbai and the issue of seat-sharing will be resolved. The leaders of the three parties will hold talks on seat-sharing from Wednesday to Friday. He said that the talks on Mumbai are almost complete but regional discussions are needed as Maharashtra is a large state. According to reports, Shiv Sena (UBT) is targeting 20-22 of the 36 seats in Mumbai.

What is the Shiv Sena (Uddhav) faction doing to prepare?

Maharashtra has a total of 288 assembly seats. The Shiv Sena (UBT) is aiming to contest between 115 and 125 seats. In the 2019 assembly elections, the undivided Shiv Sena, a part of the National Democratic Alliance, contested on 124 seats. The BJP and other allies fielded candidates on 163 seats. The Maharashtra assembly elections are likely to be held in October-November.

Sanjay Raut seems to be attacking the Centre over Rahul.

However, Sanjay was seen defending Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress party and leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha. He objected to the remarks made by the BJP leader and raised questions. Sanjay said that the opposition across the country has united under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and will continue to do so in the future. Threatening to kill people in a democratic country is not the right way if this creates fear in someone’s heart. This happened in Russia. There, the opposition was eliminated. Putin has eliminated the opposition there. This can happen even in places where there is no democracy but dictatorship. But in India, some people say that Rahul Gandhi should be treated like his grandmother or his father… If the Prime Minister and the Home Minister of the country hear this and remain silent, then I understand that this conspiracy is brewing. You are also a part of it. We cannot tolerate this situation.

Sanjay said that some people said that they would give Rs 11 lakh to whoever cuts off his (Rahul’s) tongue, while others called him (Rahul) a terrorist. There was talk of an attack. It was a conspiracy and conspiracy.
