The Congress has announced its candidates for the by-elections to seven assembly seats in Rajasthan. The list was released by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) late on Wednesday night. According to the list, the party has awarded the ticket to Amit Ola, son of Brijendra Ola, the sitting MP from Jhunjhunu. Meanwhile, Aryan Khan won the seat from Ramgarh seat, which fell vacant after the death of his father Zubair Khan. The party has announced Deendayal Bairwa from Dausa as its candidate.
Similarly, Kastur Chand Meena, Ratan Chaudhary, Mahesh Rot and Reshma Meena hail from Deoli-Uniara, Khinvsar, Chorasi and Salumber respectively. Unlike the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress did not form an alliance with any regional party for the by-elections.
The BJP has announced its candidates for 6 out of 7 seats. The party has yet to announce candidates for eighty-four seats.
When will the election and results be announced?
The last date to submit nominations for the by-election is October 25. Polling for seven assembly seats – Jhunjhunu, Dausa, Deoli-Uniara, Khinvsar, Chaurasi, Salumber and Ramgarh will be held on November 13 and the results will be declared on November 23.

Why is a by-election needed?
Of the seven seats where by-elections will be held in the state, the Congress has four seats and the BJP, BJP, and BJP have one seat each. By-elections are being held for two seats due to the death of sitting MLAs – Congress’s Zubair Khan (Ramgarh) and BJP’s Amritlal Meena (Salunbar) .
Apart from this, the MLAs of the remaining five constituencies were elected as MPs in the Lok Sabha elections and thus required by-elections. Congress MPs Brijdra Ola (Jhunjhunu), Harish Chandra Meena (Deoli-Uniara), Murali Lal Meena (Dasau), People’s Liberation Party MP Hanuman Beniwal (Khivansar) and BAP MP Rajkumar Rothe (Chorasi) were elected this year. Served as Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha elections. Currently, out of the 200 state assembly seats, the BJP has 114 MLAs, the Congress has 65 MLAs, the BSP has 3, the BSP has 2, the RLD has 1 and the Independent Party has 8 .
