Union Minister Nitin Gadkari
Just ahead of the Maharashtra Assembly elections, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has leveled a major allegation against the Congress party. Gadkari claimed that the Congress made changes to the constitution during Indira Gandhi’s rule. Addressing an election rally in Wakad, Gadkari said that during the Lok Sabha elections, the Congress had said that it would amend the constitution if the BJP won more than 400 seats. The Constitution is an important part of Indian democracy.
Gadkari said no one can change the constitution. The reality is that the Constitution was changed during the Indira Gandhi government. when his election was declared illegal by the Allahabad High Court. The Congress party then changed the constitution framed by Baba Saheb Ambedkar to suit its own interests. He said those who have violated the Constitution are using it to spread misinformation and confuse people during elections.
Gadkari said the Congress had given only the slogan “Garibi Hatao”. In fact, during their time in power, the poor faced nothing but problems and even today, wherever Congress is, the poor are in trouble. During the Congress party’s rule, many schemes such as the 8-point, 20-point and 40-point initiatives were launched under the slogan “Garibi Hatao” but unfortunately, poverty among farmers, workers, Dalits and Muslims still persists.

Gadkari said that the BJP is working hard to increase the size of the country’s economy to 5 trillion rupees. He said that the Indian automobile industry was worth 22 billion rupees and ranked third in the world. Before 2014, the Indian automobile industry ranked eighth and was worth 7 billion rupees. Due to development and technology we have now left Japan behind. We are behind China and the United States, but hopefully within the next 5 years we will leave China behind.
