Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya had recently given a statement regarding the infighting in the party. He had said that the organization is bigger than the government. Now a petition has been filed in Allahabad High Court regarding his statement. This petition has been filed on behalf of lawyer Manjesh Kumar Yadav. In which it has been said that Maurya’s comments reduce the dignity of his post and raise doubts on the transparency and probity of the government.

Maurya’s criminal history has also been mentioned in the petition.

The petition says that the absence of any response or rebuttal to this statement from BJP, the Governor and the Election Commission makes the issue more complex. Apart from this, the criminal history of Maurya has also been mentioned in the petition, in which it has been said that before his appointment as Deputy Chief Minister, there were seven criminal cases registered against him.

Also read: ‘These people of Gorakhpur should know…’, said Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya on breaking the platform of Harishankar Tiwari’s statue.

It has been argued in the petition that it is unfair to appoint a person with such a record to a constitutional post and it sets a dangerous precedent. Speaking to news agency Bhasha regarding the petition, the petitioner said that the petition has been filed in the registry of Allahabad High Court and it is likely to be listed in the court in the next few days.

Maurya had given this statement

Addressing the one-day BJP state working committee meeting on July 14, Maurya said, “The organization was bigger than the government, is bigger and will always be bigger.” His statement was linked to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. His statement heated up politics and the opposition also targeted BJP.

However, at present Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is busy preparing for the by-elections to be held on 10 assembly seats in the state. On behalf of the Chief Minister, both the Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Maurya and Brajesh Pathak have not been given any major responsibility regarding the by-elections. Let us tell you that there is a ruckus in BJP since the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
