Shad Murib, chair of the Colorado Democratic Party, reacted to Woodrow’s post, writing, “Spoke with Rep Woodrow – this is a regrettable tweet and @coloradodems condemn it.”
“We also condemn Lauren Boebert recklessly and dangerously blaming President Biden for today’s attack. Folks – we must commit ourselves to helping to calm our politics, not further dividing us,” Murib added.
Woodrow chairs the House State, Civic, Military, & Veterans Affairs Committee.
Heidi Ganahl, the Republican nominee for governor two years ago, also condemned Woodrow’s tweet, writing, “Everyone must denounce this. Such rhetoric has no place in the wake of an assassination attempt. Every American should oppose this kind of hate, yet our own Colorado Representative is perpetuating it.”
In an interview with Kyle Clark of 9News, Colorado Republican Lauren Boebert was asked whether Biden or the gunman was responsible for the shooting.
“I do believe that Joe Biden is responsible for the shooting today. Everybody who has called him a fascist, everyone who has called him a threat to democracy, who said he should be put in a bullseye, as Joe Biden said, they need to have some very deep reflection tonight before another tragedy like this takes place,” she told Clark.
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden addressed the attempted assassination, announcing an independent review into security measures and events at the Pennsylvania rally.
